With 550 participants, this year's IFS Connect Nordics in Arlanda, Sweden, was bigger than previous IFS World conferences and with visitors from all the Scandinavian countries. In fact, the popularity has been so great that IFS had to sell out. Fantastic! Over the two days, it was possible to attend more than 30 sessions on topics such as: Product news in the Cloud, The business benefits of data-driven maintenance, IFS Cloud: Advanced analytical capabilities in IFS Finance, Business Process Automation - increased efficiency in business processes with IFS Workflow and much, much more.

Peter Bering and Carsten Kaaber represented Curit at this year's conference as Silver Sponsors and came home with exciting news about and from IFS:
Future trends
At the conference, it was revealed that almost half of all participants plan to upgrade to IFS Cloud next year. Have you included an IFS upgrade in your future IT plan and budget?
Servitisation
What does Servitisation mean for your business today? Servitisation is the transformation of industrial companies from being primarily a product supplier to selling services related to the products. Where are you on the journey, are you inspired, are you in progress or in the consideration phase? What are the pros and cons of mastering this product-service business model?
Value creation throughout the lifecycle
It's no news that it's interesting to look at the entire lifecycle of your products. After all, customers don't buy a product for the sake of it, but to fulfil a need. The best way to ensure that your customers' needs are continuously met is to follow the entire lifecycle, even after the product has left production. Customers pay for value, so how do you make sure that value lands with your company? And what do you do to ensure that your products continue to provide the highest possible value to your customers? With IFS, you already have a best of breed system to capitalise on this market. You can keep track of your products sold, sell service visits, monitor performance, create and maintain advanced service contracts and of course perform the service tasks or hire a third party for that part. Also, think about the wealth of knowledge about the usage of your products that you gain insight into and how you can use it to enhance value in the future.
The digital warehouse
We also brought new technology to the conference. Namely the technology for IFS to talk to small digital displays. This makes it possible to digitise processes in the warehouse when it comes to 1) inventory overview 2) KANBAN replenishment and 3) making a picking list for production and customer orders, by being able to use the display itself to communicate with, as one of the ways a company can work on digitising its warehouse.
The benefits are obvious:
Remote controlled
Direct access to the database
Easy to change the setup for each display
Easy to use
No maintenance required
Automatic purchase order requisition
Can be set up for automatic refilling
Automatic display of minimum/maximum stock levels
Low frequency - low power consumption
A very exciting and eventful few days in Stockholm. Thanks to IFS for an extremely well-executed event and thanks for all the customer visits at the Curit stand and the interesting dialogues that resulted.
