Asset Management in IFS Cloud

With so many new technologies hitting the market today, the requirements for maintaining machinery, buildings, computers, etc. are increasing. In the past, it used to be relatively simple things that were required to maintain an asset, but as technology evolves, the need for expertise and documentation increases as assets become more diverse and require more and more knowledge. Not only has the execution of service and maintenance become more challenging in many places, there are also a number of rules and regulations for documentation, safety regulations and environmental compliance.

IFS has worked for many years to support companies' maintenance and service needs and is today also a market leader in the FSM, EAM, ERP and ESM markets.

The service and maintenance solution is built into the ERP system; that is, it is intertwined with the company's finance, HR, warehouse and production, which creates benefits whether you as a company perform internal maintenance, external service or both.

With EAM in IFS Cloud, you can:
  • Get an overview and monitor your assets, such as machinery, buildings, IT equipment, tools, etc.
  • Get suggested maintenance times based on either date, an event or a condition being met.
  • Plan with resources, stock items and purchasing.
  • Collect data that can show performance trends, which can form the basis for decisions to optimise asset uptime.
  • Furthermore, there are also both online and offline tools for your service professionals that are easy to use on the go.

IFS Cloud supports many levels of service, making it a platform that grows with your business as your needs evolve. So it's a very natural implementation process to build on over the years.

What are the benefits of using Asset management in IFS?
  • This can help improve asset availability and reliability due to better structuring of preventive maintenance.
  • This also reduces downtime.
  • Improved productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Improved control due to the data base that helps dictate when maintenance should take place.

When it comes to resource planning, the fact that EAM is integrated with the rest of the ERP system is a big advantage. This means that planners in the back office can use HR forms and holiday and sickness records to see who is available. Furthermore, you can also see an employee's qualifications if it's a job that requires certain skills. And last but not least, you can also see how the job fits in geographically with the mobile technicians' other tasks to minimise driving time.

NEW IN!

New for IFS Cloud, IFS has developed Remote assistance, a reality tool that allows experts to help less experienced technicians in the field. Using live video with demonstration, the ability to make annotations, freeze images and add symbols facilitates communication between parties. This allows more efficient use of your most skilled technicians, who instead of being on a single task can assist on many different ones via screen sharing.

At the same time, the training and job satisfaction of users increases because less experienced employees can get better support from their colleagues than they could previously get via remote assistance.

If the customer has access to - and the ability to - perform the work themselves, the tool also creates improved customer service that further adds value by allowing technicians to save transport time and guide the customer through the service work virtually.
