Key takeaways from Unleashed 2024

Curit has returned to the good soil of Jutland after a trip to the land of opportunity, the USA, and a trip on the big event carousel at IFS Unleashed.

Attending Unleashed is always an experience, and this time was no exception. As usual, the entertainment value was turned up a notch with wild rides on the roller coasters at Universal Studios, visits from Usain Bolt and Gary Player, the extravagant surroundings of the Orlando World Centre Marriott and much more.

Besides all the glitz, glitter and celebrities, the programme was also packed with high professional quality and very practical demos that demonstrated how far IFS has come in the use of AI, the handling and use of ESG functionality and an introduction to Poka, the latest product IFS has acquired and can now offer their customers.

Peter Bering, Partner at Curit, says: Yes, I have to admit that AI is here and ready in practice. I haven't become an AI evangelist, but I have become convinced that AI can and should be used and that it's coming now, not in 5+ years.

At Unleashed, IFS demonstrated how it had used AI to improve, simplify and automate processes in daily business workflows in IFS Cloud.

Peter Bering continues: So is AI for you? If you are one of our many industrial customers, my answer is a resounding yes. Is AI for you now? Maybe not, but ask yourself; if this is truly the revolution that market analysts are predicting, how will you be positioned? Do you risk having to make both a major technological shift to get your platform and your organisation ready to just use these technologies - and only then can you start implementing AI on those flows? Or would it be better to proactively get the platform in place now and help shape AI usage in your organisation or perhaps for the entire industry?

Another major focus area at the conference was ESG. Aase Appel Steffensen, CEO at Curit, talks about it: We are so used to both IFS and Curit's raison d'être revolving around efficiency, optimisation, economy, etc. With the ESG functionalities in IFS, economy goes hand in hand with environmental and climate considerations; for example, by supporting recycling, minimising waste and reducing emissions, etc. Requirements that we will all be faced with in the coming years.

There was also an introduction of one of IFS’ latest acquisitions, Poka, which is a ”Connected Worker Platform” built specifically for organisations with employees on the floor or in the field. Poka's mission is to create an operational hub that enables learning, knowledge sharing and collaboration close to the employee, whether on the production floor or in the service van. Employee training can be handled via Poka, and competency-based planning is made possible. Poka also provides practical insights to help companies stay compliant and deliver safer working conditions as part of their ESG goals. Rarely have we seen a product so well presented by the customers themselves, all of whom demonstrated a very intuitive and simple use, despite the complexity inside, and even praised the product to the skies!

Signe Henneberg, Partner at Curit, says: I have high expectations for this product, as I see that it fits well into the Danish market and the needs of our customers. The product demos portrayed a product that has really had its target group in mind, namely production managers and production employees. Definitely a product I look forward to diving more into.

Poka is aimed at companies with 100+ employees.
