The year 2023 kicked off with our customer, SG Produktion A/S, going LIVE on IFS Applications 10 on 10 January, after an implementation process that has not been without its challenges, but where the people behind the project, with diligence, courage and willpower, achieved the goal.
SG Produktion has prioritised getting a system that supports their business now, but which they can also see themselves growing in. Therefore, time has been spent exploring different setups within production and supply chain to find a solution that fits their current needs, but can be customised so that the system can grow with them. Furthermore, it has also been a desire to use IFS standard with little or no customisation, and since SG Produktion previously came from a highly customised system, this has meant that it has not only been a new system to learn, but that there was also a lot of change management that came with it.
Thomas Hansen, CFO, SG Produktion A/S: ”For us, the change of ERP system was primarily about future-proofing our ERP solution. We were using a 100% customised ERP system from a small supplier, which was far too big a risk for us. With IFS, we have made ourselves independent of a small supplier where we had to invent all the solutions ourselves. At the same time, with a hosted solution, we have also reduced the risk on the operational side.”

SG Produktion was established in 1959 with headquarters in Odense, where they employ over 100 people in their production and sales department. The company is a subsidiary of the SG Armaturen Group, which is headquartered in Norway and has subsidiaries across Europe.
