This year's summer party at Curit took place on Saturday 1 June at Jydsk Væddeløbsbane in Aarhus and the day was perfect for outdoor activities as the sun shone from an almost cloudless sky. So it was only fitting that the fine derby hats were brought out of hiding for the occasion.
The day started with a tour by Anne Marie, the racecourse's experienced tour guide, who talked about the history of the racecourse, the different types of races and of course how to bet on the horses. There was also a visit to the stables to meet the horses and learn about the equipment the horses use.

After an exciting and informative tour, it was time to put a few pennies on the horses that were about to take to the track and perform. This Saturday, the programme included Trotting (a race with a driver in a carriage, where the horse runs at a trot), Monté (a discipline where the jockey sits on the horse and the horse runs at a trot) and Gallop (where the jockey also sits on the horse and the horse runs at a gallop), so there was plenty of opportunity to put your money on the different types of races.

The atmosphere was great, and there were prizes to be won for most, although no one walked away with the big one. But it was very exciting to follow who ended up with the victory, both horse and player.
After some fantastic hours at the racetrack, we headed to Aarhus C, where a wonderful evening was set up with picnic dishes from Martin IB, cold drinks by the glass and a DJ in the Garden House.
