Meet Melina Juul Fonnesbæk, one of our employees who wears several different hats on a daily basis, as she is involved in projects where she acts as solution architect, project manager and consultant within service and supply chain.
Melina, why don't you tell us a bit about what you do at Curit?
I'm a consultant in service and supply chain, and I also work with the overall solutions in implementation projects as a solution architect, where there is a need to be able to embrace a broad approach and thus help to see through a solution and create a common thread across several interfaces. In the role of solution architect, it's important to be able to see through the complete ERP solution, which is everything from how to report on a production order to how sales and purchasing should take place, as well as all the support functions such as HR, finance and service, where you use modules across IFS Applications. In that work, you really get into the heart of IFS Applications and have to understand how things work together, which I think is really cool. As a solution architect, you're also involved when you hit a deadlock because the needs of the different business areas are conflicting, and my job as a solution architect is to find the best solution that benefits the business the most in the big picture.
What do you think is the best thing about working at Curit?
Well, I think what we can do at Curit, and what I love being a part of, is that we consist of a lot of different people with different genders, ages and not least backgrounds. The fact that we come with different work experiences and different levels of education and training just means that we can do something special together. In addition, I think we are good at utilising the fact that we can do a lot of things individually, where we are good in our own areas, but we also spend a lot of time working together as a team, which is something that I think is an important parameter when implementing ERP systems, because there is a need for all the expertise to be utilised across the entire implementation project.
What benefits do you think the IFS Applications system has to offer?
I think IFS Applications is a good ERP system because it has a very modern and intuitive user interface. IFS Applications can embrace a wide variety of companies, where you have all modules, i.e. everything a company can work with, in one system. This means that we don't have to integrate with a lot of peripheral systems, as it can all be solved in IFS Applications, and it can really do something and give our customers some coherence, both transactionally and in terms of overview. Furthermore, there are also some good reporting tools, such as Aurena (web-based user interface), where you can control the setup so that users only see the amount of data they need to deal with. We see this, for example, in the service area for technicians working in the field, but also as an approval tool for invoices etc. At the same time, IFS Applications also reaches many different sizes of companies because it is possible to go down to a very fine level of detail in the individual areas, but also to work at a more general level, depending on what the need is. This allows IFS to grow with our customers, depending on the direction in which they develop.
Thank you, Melina, for an incredibly interesting conversation.
