HR - Part 2 - Proactively work with your competence power in IFS Cloud

Nothing is more important than having the right competences in your workforce. On a day-to-day basis, it obviously affects whether you can fulfil a given task - and how efficiently. But a lack of competences is not just a here-and-now problem. It has wider implications and can affect your delivery and competitiveness - and ultimately whether you can achieve your business goals.

That's why IFS has developed a section in the HR module for managing employee competences that provides greater insight and overview of each employee's qualifications and allows you to work proactively with your entire skills base. From being something that is registered in different departments and different IT systems, IFS Cloud gathers all relevant employee data in one place - in the ERP system - enabling knowledge sharing across the organisation.

At the core of IFS Cloud is the employee master card. Here you can register work experience, education, courses, certificates and the like under predefined categories. You can also add your own categories, making the system very flexible to work in.

Once all competences are registered, you can search across competences and quickly get an overview of whether you have sufficient competence in a given area. For example, you can see how many people have a forklift licence. If you need more forklift drivers, you can use IFS Cloud to determine who you think is most suitable to send on a forklift driver course.

The overview of the individual employee's qualifications, courses etc. also provides a solid basis for working with employee development - for example in connection with the appraisal interview (MUS) https://www.curit.dk/nyheder/hr-del-1-mus-samtalen/

Many powerful tools in IFS Cloud Competencies

When you use IFS Cloud, you'll find that the system opens up new possibilities and provides a number of useful tools.

One option that will probably be new to most companies and organisations in Denmark is the Feedback function, where you can rate a colleague's skills according to how well you think they have mastered the specified skills. The function will probably mainly be used internally, but it is possible for partners and customers to log in and give praise to the employees they work with.

IFS Cloud also systemises the entire training and course part in the form of Training Management. Here you can easily create a course catalogue with what you offer and where employees can search for what they need - and be inspired. There's also an application and approval flow in the solution, so an application to participate in a course can be immediately approved by the immediate manager and HR. After a training event, the employee's qualifications are automatically updated and a new course certificate or certificate is stored in the system on the employee's master card.

Under My Development Program, the employee has their own development plan where it is easy to get an overview of what has been agreed and how it is being realised. Your department managers benefit from being able to keep track of all their employees' plans and get an overall status of the department, which provides answers to whether the pace is being maintained or the department is falling behind.

With IFS Cloud, you always have your finger on the pulse and can react proactively in relation to your strategy and plans.
