Balancing student life with a student job can be challenging, but it also provides valuable opportunities to put theoretical knowledge into practice. Two Curit students, Nicoleta Țînțar and Mike Sørensen, share their experiences below and give insight into how working both in internal finance and as an external financial consultant has shaped their professional development, as well as their views on future career opportunities and content.

Nicoleta Țînțar - From theory to practice
With an academic background in financial management from the Business Academy Aarhus, Nicoleta has directly applied her education in her daily work at Curit. She describes how working with internal finance allows her to continuously develop her skills: “The tasks I work with, such as internal accounting, require an understanding not only of the accounts themselves, but also of the systems we use, which constantly pushes me to learn and develop new skills.”
Nicoleta finds great satisfaction in her work, especially when she sees direct results of her efforts:
“It's the constant challenges and the opportunity to improve existing processes that make my job satisfying. Seeing how my efforts affect the outcome gives a sense of achievement.”
Furthermore, Nicoleta particularly values the deeper insight into financial processes and strategic decisions that she has gained through her work: “The work has not only sharpened my technical skills, but also strengthened my ability to think strategically. I have become more aware of how financial decisions can affect the entire organisation, which has reinforced my decision to continue in finance.”

Mike Sørensen - Interaction between study and work
Mike, who is studying a Master's degree in Business Controlling, has found great value in complementing his academic knowledge with practical work at Curit. He points out how his work has influenced his choice of field of study and, conversely, how his studies have enriched his work tasks, especially in data processing and accounting: “In my studies I've had both internal and external accounting, and now with the SQL classes, I've really been able to use a lot of it directly in my work. It's amazing how theory and practice can complement each other so well.”
He also emphasises how working at Curit has opened up new learning opportunities that motivate him to continue developing: “Having the opportunity to put my knowledge into practice while learning from experienced financial consultants motivates me to keep learning. Combining IT and finance is really exciting for me.”
Mike also adds how his practical experience has made his studies easier: “I have to say that my student job has actually made it easier for me to study. A lot of the knowledge I've gained through my work at Curit directly relates to what we learn on the programme. This interaction has made it easier for me to understand the theory because I can relate it to practice. So I really feel that it has been easier to navigate through the programme with the practical knowledge I have gained.”
Prepared for the professional challenges of the future
The experiences of both Nicoleta and Mike illustrate how a student job at Curit not only adds value to their education programme, but also prepares them for future career challenges. Their story is an excellent example of how work and study can go hand in hand and how it can develop both skills and professional insight.
